At just four years old, James was alone in his bedroom when he had his first experience of spirit. He seen the face of a Native American Indian in full head dress. He couldn’t explain what it was, but he knew he had seen something that wasn’t a dream. At such a young age he had felt the protective energy of this apparition surrounding him. He wasn’t frightened by it at all. In fact, he still vividly remembers the comfort it brought him. Then, at the age of 10, he was on stage in an amateur production when he felt an overwhelming sense that his Grandmother had passed away. He dropped to his knees and said out loud, “My Grandmother has passed”. Shortly after this, while visiting his Grandparents home, James had a vision of his Grandmother sitting in her chair rocking back and forth. Though he couldn’t explain this vision, again he knew what he was seeing was a connection to something real and not his imagination.

For many years James worked as a dancer and choreographer all over the World. During this time his life was so busy that he seemed to lose touch with his spiritual connection. However, when he was 40 years old, James had to have major spinal surgery. During the surgery he recalls the feeling of levitating above his body and looking down on himself undergoing the surgery. He remembers seeing a bright white light and hearing a very calming voice tell him, “It’s not your time”. The Surgeon later told James that his heart had stopped and he had to be resuscitated on the table.

During his recovery from surgery, James moved back from France to look after parents. One day his cousin suggested going to “the spooky church”.  This turned out to be a spiritualist church. As soon as James walked in to the church he felt like he’d come home. He sat in a development circle learning how to connect the bridge between the two worlds. But it turned out that his gifts were so progressed that the church decided to open a development circle solely for James to nurture his gifts.

Margaret O’Conner, an internationally renowned transfiguration medium asked James to work with her after hearing of his gifts via the spiritualist community. They toured 58 churches over the course of a year giving demonstrations of their connections with spirit. This was also the beginning of James’ journey to becoming a major charitable contributor using his gifts. 

To date James has raised more that £280,000 for good causes by helping people connect with their loved ones. He organised theatre events which sold out and worked all over the World raising both funds and awareness of the importance of connecting with spirit. He also run workshops in the UK and abroad teaching his view that life is truly eternal. As James says, “There is no such thing as death. What we do at the end of our physical life is to simply return home”.

Having read many sceptical individuals who had considered spiritualism a hoax, James is very proud to have given them the experience and evidence of reconnecting with their loved ones and helping them see that they are at peace, ultimately helping those former sceptics in their grief. Speaking to the  view held by some that mediumship is all a hoax, James has said, "I can't speak for other Mediums, or for those people who may falsely claim to be Mediums. What I do know for sure is that the connections I make with spirit come from a pure and honest space in my heart. I would encourage anyone who doubts the power of my own mediumship to contact me for a reading and let spirit quell their doubts".

Often people will ask, “But how could you possibly know this”. James’ response is that it’s almost like a telephone call. He never analyses the messages coming to him. He simply allows the information to flow through him. He’s had many experiences where something hasn’t made sense to someone during a reading,. But when they’ve gone home and spoken with family, someone will inevitably make the connection. This is why James will always encourage people to take notes or even record the reading on their phone as it can be a lot of information to take in and process at one time.

In more recent years, James' reputation amongst the Mediumship and charitable communities has seen him dubbed "King of Charity" because of his tireless work in using his gift for good. He has appeared on Sky TV and read privately for many celebrities. But he is very clear about one thing in relation to this saying, "Spirit doesn't recognise celebrity. Whether you are an internationally known household name or not, spirit always speaks to the heart of what is going on in your life and wants to guide you on the basis of the things that are truly important. In other words, we don't refer to them as your 'loved ones' for no reason".

Today, James has retired from hosting major events due to his health. However, he believes strongly that his journey and gifts with spirit are with him to the last. That’s why he now offers private readings, either from his home or via a video call.
